Sony Ericsson Xperia ray and Xperia active Android smartphones

Sony Ericsson has just announced a pair of new Xperia series smartphones at CommunicAsia 2011 in Singapore, the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray and the Sony Ericsson Xperia active.

Both handsets are running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and works in quad-band GSM/EDGE and HSPA 900MHz, 2100MHz.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is a dust proof and water resistant smartphone with measures 55 x 92 x 16.5 mm. New Xperia Active is powered by a 1GHz processor chip, a 2GB microSD card, and a 1200 mAh battery.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active smartphone packs a 3-inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 resolution and Mobile Bravia Engine-powered, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, WiFi, an FM radio, Bluetooth, and aGPS.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia ray has aluminum frame housing and brings four color options – black, white, gold and pink. New Xperia ray smartphone sports a 1GHz processor, a microSD card slot (a 4GB card is bundled), and a 1500 mAh battery.

New Sony Ericsson Xperia ray packs a 3.3-inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen enhanced display with Mobile Bravia Engine and resolution of 854 x 480 pixel, a VGA front-facing camera, a 8.1 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, Wi-Fi, hotspot functionality, FM radio, aGPS, a micro USB port, and Bluetooth.

Dimensions of the Xperia ray are 111 x 53 x 9.4mm. The Sony Ericsson Xperia ray and Xperia active smartphones will be available in Q3 2011.

Red Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo coming soon at Vodafone UK

Vodafone UK is going prepare to exclusively release the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo in red version. The specifications of red Xperia Neo handset is remain similar to blue and silver versions.

Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, Red Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo smartphone sports a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, and an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with 720p video recording.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo handset is powered by a 1GHz single-core processor and has Sony Mobile Bravia Engine, Timescape UI.

Nokia N950 MeeGo developer-focused smartphone

Reportedly, Nokia will release developer-focused version of consumer-oriented N9, called the Nokia N950.

This handset is a side-slider form factor with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 4-inch touchscreen display with resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.

Nokia N950 smartphone is boasts a 1GHz OMAP 3630 processor paired with PowerVR SGX530 graphics and MeeGo operating system.

Like N9, the Nokia N950 is equipped with a front-facing camera for video calls (on the top right corner) and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. There is Bluetooth 2.1 (N9 with Bluetooth 4.0), a 1320mAh battery (the N9 has 1450mAh), and a MicroSD card slot. N950 is lack NFC support.

Motorola Pro coming to the UK next month

Back in February 2011 during MWC event, Motorola was introduced its European version of Droid Pro (sold in US by Verizon), called the Motorola Pro.

This handset is now listed at Clove, the online UK retailer and will be release in mid-July. There is no detail on exactly ship date but has priced at £420 (incl. VAT).

Motorola Pro is a candybar smartphone that provides both a full physical QWERTY keyboard and a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 resolutions.

The Motorola Pro handset is boasted by a 1 GHz TI processor, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 1420 mAh battery, and runs Android 2.2 Froyo. There is a 5 MP autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and 480p video recording, 10.2 Mbps HSDPA, 1.8 Mbps HSUPA, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

LG Ego Wi-Fi touchscreen phone from Vodafone UK

Folks in the UK can purchase a new touchscreen featurephone from Vodafone. It is namely the LG Ego Wi-Fi phone that already available for priced at £65 on Pay as you go (PAYG). Two Anna smartphones, Nokia E6 in the UK, Nokia X7 hit the US

Nokia was announced the availability of two Symbian Anna powered smartphones few weeks ago, the Nokia X7 and the Nokia E6. Now, both handsets are already available for order in the UK (Nokia E6) and the US (Nokia X7).

The E6 smartphone is combining QWERTY and touchscreen phone that available in three flavors – black, white, and silver. The Nokia E6 is selling for priced at £349 SIM-free or £339 on Pay as you go (PAYG). You also can get Nokia E6 for free with sign a new 2-year contract (with UK operator) and at least £25 per month.

Nokia X7 is now available in the US via STM Miami. You can get the X7 handset for $535.95 SIM-free, unlocked, and Dark Steel color.

Orange Barcelona coming soon in the UK

Orange will be launching a new own-branded Android smartphone, the Orange Barcelona. It will offer for free with select monthly plans, or PAYG (pay as you go) but not unveiled price yet.

Running Android 2.2 Froyo OS, the Orange Barcelona smartphone has a 2.6-inch landscape touchscreen display, GPS, HSDPA, Orange Maps, HD Voice, 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio, and a 3.2MP camera.

In additional, Barcelona sports Signal Boost (UMA), music player, and high volume loud speaker.

Motorola Triumph Android phone for Virgin Mobile

Motorola has  introduced another device, called the Motorola Triumph. It will be exclusively available for Virgin Mobile.

The Motorola Triumph smartphone is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal memory, and a MicroSD card slot (up to 32GB).

New Triumph is sports a 4.1-inch touchscreen display with WVGA (400 x 800 pixels) resolution, a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with 720p video recording, and HDMI output.

Other technical specifications of Motorola Triumph are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MicroUSB port, and a 1400 mAh rechargeable battery. Dimensions of Motorola Triumph are 120 x 63 x 10 mm and weight about 140 g.
