Sony Ericsson XPERIA active rugged smartphone, unlocked in the US

Another Xperia smartphone has just launched in the United States, after released in the UK last month. Newegg.com is selling the Sony Ericsson XPERIA active smartphone for $339.99 unlocked.
This Sony Ericsson phone is a rugged Android smartphone that introduced back in June 2011 at CommunicAsia Singapore.
Beside scratch-resistant display, Sony Ericsson XPERIA active has a 3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 320 resolutions. Inside specs, Xperia Active brings a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, 1GB of built-in memory (320MB user available), 512MB RAM, and a microSD card (up to 32GB).
Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, Sony Ericsson Xperia Active packs a rear 5 megapixel camera with 720p video recording, GPS, Wi-Fi, barometer, compass, wrist strap, heart rate and pulse monitoring apps.
Both dust-proof and water resistant, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA active is also nice compact phone that measures 3.6 x 2.2 x 0.6 inches and weighs 3.9 oz.

Sonim Technologies has recently announced a newest ultra-rugged phone, the Sonim XP1300 CORE. The gadget is very ideal for construction crews, dock workers, farmers, adventurers, and others in tough work environments.
New Sonim XP1300 CORE is made in a rugged sealed housing in accordance with the U.S. military standard, MIL-STD-810G Certified and the standard of protection, IP68 Rating. Sonim is claimed that it’s the world’s first IP-68 rated GSM handset which is fully submersible in 2 meters of water.
Sonim XP1300 CORE is sports a 2-inch high-resolution display with Gorilla Glass lens for extreme shock and scratch-resistant, noise-cancelling Omni-directional microphone, widely-spaced keys for ease of use with gloved hands, 23mm speaker with GORE cover, and video/MP3 player.
The Sonim XP1300 CORE phone is designed for use in GSM cellular network. Its battery is enabling up to 18 hours of talk time, 800 hours of standby.
Newly Sonim XP1300 CORE ultra-rugged phone would go on sale in November 2010 for price tag $400.

Sonim XP3 Sentinel

Sonim  has recently introduced new ultra rugged mobile phone, called Sonim XP3 Sentinel. The handset is designed and suitable for use in isolated and hazardous environments that still keep remote workers safe.

Sonim XP3 Sentinel has a hardened rubber molded into casing that used dual injection process. It also has meet MIL-810G certified for fog, salt, transport shock, humidity, and thermal shock, as well as has IP-67 rated for waterproof. The rugged phone brings protect device with shock and scratch resistant Gorilla glass screen.

The Sonim XP3 Sentinel is provides three very useful button – an amber button, a green button, and red emergency button. The amber button will enable for request monitoring and tracking. The green button will be tracked the start and the end of a shift. The red emergency button should be send a signal GPS tracking location and enabling call the Emergency Response Center even phone still locked.

Sonim XP3 Sentinel ultra-rugged phone has brings integrated GPS receiver with SiRF InstantFix, a 176×220 pixel display, FM radio, a 2MP camera with flash, LED torch light, a microSD card slot, and Bluetooth Man Down sensor. Sonim XP2 on display at MWC in all its rugged glory

The last time we saw the Sonim XP2, it was getting approval from the FCC. It would appear that it has been unveiled in all its glory at MWC.

The Sonim XP2 Phone is a durable one. Not only can it withstand the snow in the pic, but it can be submerged in water for 30 minutes, dropped onto a concrete floor, and withstand temps up between -4 and 131 degrees F. Yeah, it is certified for military specs for thermal shock, transport shock dust, solar radiation, and even salt water. It also features a 3 megapixel camera, speakerphone, messaging, and multimedia player.
